Picture Show

This is what we were up to yesterday. Bookmarks storytime @ Northpark. Sophia had fun, but I think I had more fun watching her jump around and "participate".
When we arrived, most of the "good" seats were taken so we sat along the side. Little toot jumped right out of my lap and made her way to a front row seat. She sat right down next to the very sweet looking grandmother in the blue shirt. I smiled.
Listening to Where the Wild Things Are.
I did not get a good photo, but did shoot some video of the "Let's Go Fly a Kite" sing-a-long. Which reminded me to watch Mary Poppins with Sophia. I remember Isabella loved that movie at this age.

They have the neatest little "book nooks" for kids.

These photos are from last month, but I wanted to share...
Little miss insisted on wearing her pink cowgirl boots to school one day. She looks pretty darn cute, I think.
Happy Thursday!

Ahhh...rest

I'm writing today from my happy place. The overstuffed chair in my bedroom right next to the window letting in midday sun.  There are toys scattered at my feet, but I'm not concerned about tidying up right now. It is Tuesday at 11:52 am and I am at home. I LOVE it! No work for me this week.

Cale and I have thrown around the idea of a Florida beach vacation for several months now, but it just never worked out. I should be disappointed, but I am not. Vacations are fun, but I always feel like I need another week off just to recover from the trip. Instead, I get to be a stay-at-home mommy for a week. Me and my sweet girl have some fun things planned. I hope to snap some photos to post.

In the meantime, enjoy these photos of three, giggly, girl cousins. These photos make me happy. Not just because of the fun they had that hot, summer day in the horse trough (It was fresh water, y'all), but because I know the girls will treasure the memory of this moment for years to come. I'm so thankful to my thoughtful husband for capturing it all on film.

Hot fun in the summertime

I don't know about where you live, but it has been hotter than you know what here in Texas. I think the whole country is experiencing the heat wave.

Sophia has been talking about the zoo again, so we considered taking her for an hour or so this morning (we have a membership), but it was not meant to be. The cable guy showed up early. By the time he left, it was too hot to have a good time at the zoo. So, we went to the Galleria instead. I needed to run an errand and Cale wanted to walk around and grab some lunch. I chose Five Guys Burgers for lunch. Just as we sat down to eat, I see Pauly Shore walk in. That's right. The guy from BioDome and Son-In-Law. I knew he was in town for his stand-up comedy tour. Cale has mentioned several times this weekend that he wanted to go. I saw him first and non-chalantly whispered..."Cale-look to your right". I knew he would be thrilled. He was. He debated going up to say hello, but didn't want to bother him while he was eating. He ended up running into him later and shook his hand and said hi, but Pauly wasn't very friendly. I told Cale he probably wasn't a happy person. We moved on. Well, Cale did, but I was upset that he wasn't so nice to my man.

Now we are home. I'm blogging and baby girl has been napping. I hear her stirring now. I'm out.

Happy Sunday all!
